Purpose/Mission Statement: To spiritual comfort bereaved families during their time of loss with singing of hymns of support.
Scripture: Psalms 108:3-4 “I will Praise Thee, O Lord among the People; And I will sing Praises unto thee among the Nations For Thy Mercy is Great above the heaven and Thy truth reaches unto the Clouds.”
Rehearsal Time/Day/ Location: The Jubilee Choir rehearses in the Main Sanctuary when called upon.
History
Mrs. Ruth Smith and Mrs. Edith Glover expressed interest in forming a special choir to sing on such occasions. The Church and the Pastor supported their idea, thus the formation of the Jubilee Choir.
The Choir’s first service was February 26, 1992. Mrs. Alice Gaskins was theOrganist/directress. Since that time, the Jubilee Choir has rendered spiritual support in song to many of Bethany’s members, families and friends.
The members of the Jubilee Choir consist primarily of retired church members and others who are available on weekdays.
Having a large church family and supporting the community and the extended family and friends ofBethanymembers, the Church has a substantial number of home going services each year.
The Jubilee Choir members are faithful and are always ready to serve, even though advance notice is sometimes short. The membership is open to anyone who would like to join and have a rewarding experience being part of this ministry. Please see Ms. Ruth Smith for more information.
