Purpose/Mission Statement: The Flower Ministry is to adorn the pulpit and sanctuary with flowers and to minister to the sick, those in need, and the bereaved families and friends of the church.
Scripture: Psalms 103:15 “As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.”
Meeting Day: The Flower Ministry meets on an as needed basis
History
The first president was Mrs. Lola Mattee appointed under the pastorate of the late Reverend James H. Saunders. This ministry was originally organized as a Penny Drive with its members saving and collecting pennies as means of supporting the church’s missionary fund. In later years, the name was changed to the Flower Club. Past presidents were Mrs. Greta Turner, Mrs. Alberta Cook and Mrs. Linda Moses.
The Flower Ministry membership continues to strongly support all of the undertakings at the Bethany church.
