 History

The Sunday Breakfast Missionary Ministry was organized in 1978 under the leadership of Pastor Bright.  In response to Pastor Bright’s request to have breakfast prepared in the Church on Sunday mornings for the Sunday School teachers and their families, Mrs. Sylvia Stubbs volunteered to perform this task.  Six women and one man quickly joined her.  They were:  Jacqueline Hatten, the late Erma Hicks, Cecile Pettus, Verna Brown, Joan Frye and Everette Hodges.  These seven people prepared and served the first breakfast on the 3rd Sunday in October 1978.

Under the leadership of Pastor Barnes, the Breakfast Ministry is co-chaired with Jacqueline Hatten and Sandra Green sharing in the leadership role.  Jackie Hatten and Committee serves on the 1st and 3rd Sunday.  Sandra Green and Committee serves on the 2nd Sunday, Women’s Fellowship Ministry,   and 4th Sunday Men’s Fellowship Ministry.

The Sunday Breakfast Ministry feeds not only Sunday school teachers and their families, but also other members and friends coming to attend Sunday school and/or Morning Worship Service.  Their mission is not jut to provide food for the physical body, but also to help create an atmosphere where the church family can come together and fellowship with one another as they prepare their hearts to receive a spiritual blessing.
